My Experience

Where I got it: I bought it at Tolt Yarn & Wool in Carnation, WA.

Needles I used: 3 mm/US 2.5

Blocked Gauge I got: 23 stitches/36 rows = 4"/10 cm

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this sheepy, rustic yarn. It’s one with a bit of crunch that gives lovely stitch definition and feels like it’ll really last. I don’t find it to be scratchy or rough, but I can definitely feel some prickles when I put it against my neck. I think I’d stick to accessories like mitts, hats, and leg warmers or outerwear like a nice oversized sweater or vest.

I love where this yarn came from too. It was grown in the Snoqualmie Valley in Washington state (thus the name) and processed at Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont. It was created in partnership with one of my favourite yarn shops, Tolt Yarn & Wool in Carnation, WA, and the Ravelry listing says that 20% of the profit on this yarn will be donated to Seattle Children’s Hospital.

What I might design with it: I made my Witty’s Trail Mitts with it! I love the way it looks worked up in a knit/purl texture.

Where you can get some: Shop at Tolt.
