My Experience

Where I got it: I bought it from Neighborhood Fiber Co’s website.

Needles I used: US 4/3.5 mm

Blocked Gauge I got: 23 stitches/34 rows = 4"/10 cm

My Thoughts: Wow, this stuff is so dreamy when it’s knit by itself. The fabric just floats with this beautiful shine from the silk and halo from the mohair. I love how it’s like transparent luxury gauze. And the colour is so pretty, with a little semi-solid soft pink that pushes into peachy. And if you had any doubt, yes it is as soft as it looks.

Like all mohair/silk yarns, it’s challenging to frog, but if you drop a stitch, it’s not going anywhere, so you’ll have plenty of time to pick it up.

It’s also really beautiful knit along with a fingering weight wool yarn.

If you’re not familiar with Neighbourhood Fiber Co, I encourage you to check them out. They do a lot of good for their community and have a wonderful range of yarns.

What I might design with it: You can see the simple toque I made with it held together with Ocean by the Sea Haze, a lovely fingering weight non-superwash wool. I used the basic pattern for my Full Spectrum Hat as a starting point and you can see how I did it, plus instructions for making your own at any gauge and any size on my blog.
