Weave in your ends with duplicate stitch

My favourite method for weaving in ends is duplicate stitch on the wrong side. This method is nearly invisible on the right side and is very secure. The principle is to follow the path of a stitch so you’re creating a double thickness across a small bit of fabric. Once you get the hang of it, you can do it in any stitch pattern, including colourwork and textured stitches.

Go to 1:17 of the video to see me weave in the actual end of this swatch to the garter stitch edge. It’s a little different and I think it’ll help you see how this can be done with all kinds of stitch patterns.

If you’re interested in this technique, you should know that you can also put duplicate stitch on the right side of the fabric to create embellishments. It’s a great way to add colour and texture to fabric without needing to knit in as you go. Here’s a video showing how to do that and an example of how cute it looks!
